Today, at the Women’s Shed, we learned a bit about Eco-dyeing. Erika is new to our community and has this amazing skill of dyeing fabrics using natural leaves and flowers. She can be seen here showing us some paper prints, while wearing a top that she dyed using this craft. Her favourite things to dye are silk scarves. These pictures below show some of the amazing patterns and colours. Every scarf is unique.
We have booked Erika in for free lessons on Thursday 25 November. Everyone is welcome. You will need to bring your own fabric (plain white scarf, top, table cloth/runner, serviette, whatever fabric you like). You will also need something to wrap your fabric and leaves around (such as piece of pipe, hose, etc) See the photo below. Everything else is supplied.
You will need to let us know if you are coming as we need to make sure our numbers are Covid safe for the room. Our current regulations require everyone to use the QR code to check in, sanitise your hands and wear your mask while indoors.
